On Sunday, May 3rd we will be celebrating the 500th anniversary of the coronation of King Henry VIII with a grand re-coronation of our King. This unique event will be held at 1:30pm in the Natural Cathedral of the Pecan Grove area of the festival. Presided over by Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, the re-coronation will make use of the Scarborough Crown Jewels. Scarborough Renaissance Festival has one of only nine copies of the English Crown Jewels in America. Selected pieces will displayed during the 1pm parade as nobles from throughout the Kingdom, as well as foreign lands, make their procession to the "Cathedral."
